My favourite lens

The pentax k smc 55mm f/2, It's the favourite lens (manual) that i own.
First of all i really like the focal length, i think it's a great all round length from portrait to street. If you are shooting street then another great thing is that it has a focus scale chart to show what will be in focus at certain apertures which is very helpful with zone focusing.
It's pretty fast being the maxium aperture being f/2 which means it will be good for low light and shallow depth of field shots which it does give off pleasant bokeh and it's reasonably sharp wide open (but much sharper when stopped down to f/4).
It focuses quite close, no macro lens but at 0.45m it's still quite good for many applications.
As i mentioned earlier it's a very sharp lens.
The build quality is really good, it's made of metal, has a nice Strong aperture ring and really smooth focus. It has some weight to it but it is really build to last.
You can even you use it on a new pentax dslr or if you get an adaptor you can use it on other dslrs (aps-c only), a great choice for a budget lens or a lens for a videographer and you can get it for probably almost 3x less that canon cheapest 50mm 1.8.
Lastly the cost, it's a very cheap lens in my opinion and especially for what you get, on ebay you can find them (or a variant like the m 50mm which is very alike) for about £30 or just a bit more. But you can find them with bodies for the same price or less, on ebay i got a pentax MV (in very good con) with a very alike pentax m smc 50mm f/2 and case for £5.19 + £4.50 postage which is under £10/
Here are some of the shots i've taken with this lens:
